Trio nabbed after burglary yields $10000 haul

Scarsdale police captured Michael Petit 20 and his wife Joan 18 of the Bronx and Paul Jacobs 20 at the Quaker Ridge Club area following a burglary at the Frank residence on W Griffen Avenue. Loot including jewelry furs and a TV valued over $10 000 was recovered from a front wall area. The trio were arraigned with Petit and the wife held without bail and Jacobs released on bail of 1000.

LWV Schedules Workshops On School Merger

The Scarsdale League of Women Voters set two August workshops to study possible consolidation of Union Free School Districts Nos. 1 and 2. Gourmet Cooking Course At Scarsdale Adult School

Lois Kaisse will teach a Gourmet Cooking course at Scarsdale Adult School on Tuesday evenings from 8 to 10 starting September 29. Classes include Paris Florence and Spain menus with tasting, a $30 fee includes $5 for food and wine, and early registration is advised as enrollment is limited. Adele Du Breuil returns with a course on Care of the Home Grounds covering plants, soil, pruning, pest control, and color slides from her garden.

Crossing Guard Meets Fire Over Post Road Safety

At the Tuesday village board meeting Mrs. Chilton Brown accused Huntington and Post roads safety of inadequate child protection. Village Manager Lowell J. Tooley defended the crossing guard as regularly posted despite enforced absences. He added that details were shared with the Greenacres safety committee.
