Pfc. Oswald A. Krebs Jr of Ross Road, a field wireman with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team, was due to fly from Japan to Fort Bragg in mid July as part of Operation Gyroscope. He entered the Army in February 1953, trained at Fort Campbell, arrived overseas last October, attended Cornell University, and was expected home on furlough this week.
