Scarsdale Welcomes 36 AFS Students From Argentina and Chile
The Scarsdale community hosts 36 American Field Service students for eight days as part of a 12 year local tradition. Host families, led by co chairs Mrs Feldman and Mrs Charlap, provide homes for bonding activities. Mayor Malcolm A. Neighbors oppose Percy L. Smith’s plan to subdivide the 0.885 acre Bennett property at 10 Elmdorf Drive in Scarsdale into three lots. Doggy Wagon Changes Canine Life Of Ease
Scarsdale tightens leash and license enforcement with a renewed dog patrol program. Two summer workers Raymond Dragani and William Marsden patrol the village in a red station wagon with cages and gear, catching stray or unlicensed dogs by rope and biscuits. They operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and follow village rules mandating dog registration and leashed or chained dogs on streets.
