Dr. Charles J. Blanford was chosen for a third term as president of the Edgemont Greenburgh 6 Board of Education at the July 6 organizational meeting. Also elected were Dr. Walter A. Anderson vice president Mrs. George B. Englehardt district clerk and Myron W. Wright treasurer. Depositories named County Trust Co and Scarsdale National Bank. Contract awards for the new high school issued to R A Kelly Inc for cafeteria tables and chairs typing desks and chairs and related items totaling 5726 55 H B Miles Experimental Laboratories will supply audio visual equipment at 2587 68 and Sonocraft Corp will furnish a public address system at 291 44. Institute Aided By Garden Tour Yields Large Benefit Total
The second annual house and garden tour for New York University Bellevue Medical Center’s Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation raised 12 325 dollars for the Patients Welfare Fund. An anonymous donor covered all tour expenses so the entire proceeds go to patient care and recreation programs. Dr Howard A Rusk said the gift enables rehabilitation services for more than 25 severely disabled individuals next year and adds dignity to their lives. Plans call for a third tour in Greenwich Westchester in May 1956 with co chairs Mrs Bernard F Gimbel and Mrs Joseph Wilshire leading the effort.

Five Men Injured When Wagon Is Forced Off Bronx Parkway
A station wagon carrying five men was forced off the Bronx River Parkway near Crane Road on Monday evening July 11. The car struck a tree and overturned injuring all five. The driver, Pasquale Marino of New York City, suffered a broken arm and was taken to White Plains Hospital. Mrs BE Laughlin of Fox Meadow Road contacted police after hearing the crash.

Greenridge Elects Samuel Weinberg As New President
Samuel Weinberg was elected president of the Greenridge Association at its annual meeting June 28 at Scarsdale Golf Club. Officers include Harold Mobus vice president George Ellis treasurer and Gabriel Bureau secretary. Weinberg plans a committee with Greenburgh Town Council to curb driving hazards in the association area. Dr William Heugh of Edgemont High School and Edwin McKernan discussed the new campus style school opening in September and tax assessment equity in Greenburgh. The meeting adjourned with thanks to outgoing president Eyer Braden.
