Walter Morris Indicted in Car Theft Cases
Walter Morris, eighteen, of Jacksonville Florida, indicted by the Grand Jury on two counts of first degree grand larceny. He allegedly stole a Whitestone Insulation Co station wagon from 69 Harney Rd on June 25 after escaping Children’s Village Dobbs Ferry and abandoning the car in New York City. He faces a prior theft charge in White Plains.

Theft Reported From Parked Car Near Saxon Woods Golf Course
Police investigate a theft on Thursday July 7 from a parked car opposite Saxon Woods Golf Course on Mamaroneck Road. A war bond valued at $50 a fountain pen worth $15 a man's suit and a wallet containing $18 were taken. Rocco Tirone of New Rochelle reported returning at 4:45 p.m. after parking the sedan at 12:10 p.m. to find a window forced open.

Infantile Paralysis Up in County and Nation
Two new infantile paralysis cases were reported in Westchester County for the week ending July 11, part of a season total of five, up from two a year ago in the county. Statewide for the week ending July 2 there were 12 cases, 68 to date this year, versus 76 last year. Nationally 479 cases were reported for the week ending July 2, with a total of 3197 cases so far in 1948, up from 2368 last year.
