50 000 Machines Clocked on Parkway
Fifty thousand machines were clocked on the Bronx River Parkway in both directions last Sunday. No accuracy count was kept on other county highways, but parkway traffic suggests county roads near 300,000 cars. Traffic was so heavy some cars took 45 minutes to travel from Bronxville to Woodlawn.

Greenburgh No 6 District Votes to Buy Ten Acres on Ardsley
In a special meeting the Greenburgh No 6 School District voted 67 to 26 to purchase about 10 acres on Ardsley Road near Fort Hill Road for 75000 to serve as a future elementary school site. A second proposal to buy 4.6 acres on Seely Place was narrowly defeated 39 to 37. The board also asked trustees to study Strayer and Engelhardt proposals for the district's future, with a report due by October 31.
