M E Newcomb route agent for the American Railway Express found five crates of potable alcohol at the Scarsdale station after Memorial Day. The owner had not claimed them and the crates bore addresses to New Mexico California New Hampshire and Colorado. Police confiscated the alcohol and await Federal authorities.

The Scarsdale National Bank and Trust Company circulated about four thousand dollars in new currency on Wednesday. Residents exchanged pennies nickels quarters and old bills for the new money with the two dollar bill proving most unpopular and some customers refusing it. A woman questioned if the new bills could be used to buy as much as the old ones and two lemonade stand boys urged the teller for two one dollar bills.

Lost Beagle Mother and Five Puppies in Scarsdale
A shy brown and white beagle mother from Scarsdale has vanished from her home on 190 Old Army Road owned by Mr. and Mrs. 8 H Woodard. Five puppies, four brown and black and one white, were born under a barn and are now in a rock ledge near the house awaiting their owner. The mother wears a collar and license but the tag cannot be read, and she slips away when pursued. The pups are old enough to roam and the family hopes the owner will cooperate to reclaim the pets.
