Water Boy Becomes Water Boss After 28 Years in Scarsdale
Nicholas Macri, 43, has spent 28 years with Scarsdale’s water department. Starting as a 15 year old water boy under his father, he rose to water superintendent and sanitation assistant, serving 24 hours a day when needed. He has worked through night school, armed forces service, and now leads 13 water and 42 sanitation staff amid a move to obtain a NY City pipeline and shared regional water supply.
