Mrs N Courtney Owen of Walbrook Road won double championships by finishing first in both the National and Columbia rounds at the Eastern Archery Association tournament held June 30 to July 2 in Deerfield Massachusetts. Frances Thord Gray of Greenwich placed second with teammates Elizabeth White and Mrs Caleb Hyatt taking top spots in the novice class. General Thord Gray finished second in the men's 100 yard range. Dr Paul Crouch of Newton Center won that division.

James A. Mondesire of 429 Knox Avenue New York drove along Fox Meadow road near Chesterfield road when headlights blinded him and his car smashed into a tree at 1130 p m on June 30. Scarsdale exceeds its annual quota for the Salvation Army drive supporting Westchester work. George E. Green chairs the local committee with Edward B.
