Fourth of July Celebrations Draw Large Local Turnout

More than 350 residents joined July 4 ceremonies sponsored by three neighborhood associations under sunny skies. Children paraded as Mayor Malcolm A. MacIntyre and Town Supervisor Rudolf P. Berle spoke at Crossway Field and Greenacres Field. Activities included pony rides softball and track events with plenty of refreshments to beat the heat.

Young couples seek guidance on marriage from Scarsdale counseling

Sydney Paul, executive director of Scarsdale Family Counseling Service, notes that modern couples expect more from marriage but often lack tools to resolve conflicts. The Greater Scarsdale United Fund supports 21 agencies. Twenty two local families sought help. some couples improve by talking, while others still divorce, bringing guilt and life changes for children and relatives.
