Mrs. Edgar A. Levy of Mamaronneck avenue, a Scarsdale resident and active community member, died after being struck by a car Sunday afternoon near Fenimore and Post roads. The vehicle, driven by John F. Smith of New York, hit Levy and her companion, who were taken to White Plains Hospital. Levy underwent emergency surgery at midnight as physicians from New York assisted. no officer was stationed at the crossing near police headquarters.

Parkway Drive bridge work approved after sinking fund consent
The Bronx Parkway Commission will proceed with construction of the Parkway Drive bridge over the Scarsdale lakes after the Sinking Fund Commission granted consent on June 27. Bids opened April 17 for the bridge and rail connections totaled 195 230 10 with Triest Contracting Co as low bidder. Completion was planned by year end but delays require extra time for the contractor. The commission also opened bids June 26 for paving three miles of the northerly Parkway Drive from White Plains to Valhalla and will advertise for bids on the remaining short section between Harney road and the new Scarsdale bridge.
