School reopen dates announced for Scarsdale districts
The Inquirer reports Scarsdale Edgemont and Quaker Ridge Schools will reopen for fall on Monday September 13. Eastchester schools will reopen on Wednesday September 8, five days earlier.

Dr. Weaver Receives Medal for Merit in Joint Ceremony
Dr. Warren Weaver of 160 Brite Avenue was awarded the Medal for Merit, the highest civilian decoration, at a joint Army Navy Air Force ceremony on June 22 for his scientific war work from 1940 to 1946. Four days earlier he received an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Wisconsin. earlier this spring, the British Government awarded him the King's Medal for Service in the Cause of Freedom.
