Village May Purchase Land to Extend Gentles St
Arthur Manor Village moves to extend Gentles Street from Carman avenue to Tunstall place after a favorable vote. Village Engineer Arthur Boniface was tasked with obtaining land price estimates for the project at the Tuesday meeting, held at Village Hall with no opposition present. Edward H. Jackson spoke for local residents on need and timing of the improvement. Trustees White presided. Ayres and others were absent. A separate letter discussed an International Coach Co plan to run an emergency bus system in Westchester with toll zones and free transfers, using buses from International Harvester.

Cars Collide on East Parkway in Week Car Crash
A collision on East Parkway involved H. M. Endlekofer of Scarsdale avenue and Richard L. Edwards Jr. of Autenrieth road. Endlekofer was moving south on the west side when Edwards turning south from a parking space struck him. Left front fender and front bumper sustained damage.

No Electric Current During Utility Transfer in Scarsdale

Three Still Alarms For Fire Department
The Fire Department answered three still alarms last Sunday. The first at Fred L. Kent's Morris lane residence reported smoke in the kitchen and servants bath. no fire found. The second at L I Thomas's Carstensen road house, prior fire at Drake road, also no fire. boiler valve blew and gauge read eight pounds. Scarsdale station reported a smoky odor but building found in perfect condition.

Quail Trip Ends With Fine For Graham
William T. Graham of Circle Road traveled to South Carolina for a shooting trip. A missing dog caused a delay but brought a good quail bag. In New York City the game warden confiscated the rest and fined Graham ten dollars, though three quail were returned.

Defeat Moves to Increase Woman's Club Dues by Fifteen Votes
By a 106 to 75 vote the Scarsdale Woman's Club defeated proposed amendments to raise dues and create new member classes. The plan would have funded a Wayside house expansion, with junior, associate, contributing and non resident members adding varied initiation fees and dues. The fiscal year begins February 1 and changes would take effect in 1927.

Ray O Wyland director of the Division of Church Relations spoke at the Fenimore Cooper Council Boy Scouts annual banquet held January 21 at Scarsdale Lodge. He praised scouting for patriotism character and vocational guidance and noted the world reach of the movement with about a million scouts and 800 paid staff serving 173000 volunteers. The Ford sedan of Miss H. 5. Mason of The Scarsdale Inquirer rested in the Scarsdale Woman's Club lot Tuesday at nine. It was found half an hour later overturned over a hemlock hedge with a smashed mud guard and torn rear tire. Police suspect a truck from Wayside lane struck the car, causing it to spin and crash. Damages exceed $20.

A Few Contagious Diseases Reported in Scarsdale
Health Officer Dr. Ralph R. Ryan reported January 26 to the Village Board: four measles cases, two German measles, two pneumonia, two scarlet fever, and one chicken pox.
