Paul M. Warburg, director on the Federal Reserve Board, told 500 New York Credit Men’s Association members at the Astor that American business must avoid rapid afterwar expansion. He urged permanent industry base, prudent profits use, and converting excess currency into Federal reserve notes, with other speakers including Senator Gore and District Attorney Swann.
The Village Board met at the Town Hall with full attendance and discussed abolishing the four lighting districts to cover the whole village. Trustees reviewed fire equipment status, road repairs, water supply plans, and street maintenance, with decisions deferred to future committees.
Scarsdale suffragists attended a reception at 663 Fifth Avenue New York for Mrs Norman De R Whitehouse newly elected Chairman of the New York State Suffrage Party. More than five thousand invitations issued the rooms crowded from four to seven. Other party officers greeted guests including Mrs F H Bethell Mrs Carl Osterheld and Mrs John Watkins at White Plains suffrage tea later.
