Ormiston of Bronson Ave received the Silver Beaver the council’s top volunteer honor for distinguished service to boyhood. He has 15 years in Scouting, serving as Three Rivers District Commissioner and as chair of organization and extension for the council which covers 264 units and about 10 000 Scouts. In the Children’s Room of the Scarsdale Public Library a model dairy farm and scale dairy plant exhibit educates boys and girls. Loaned by the Dairy Council of Westchester County, it features movable farm elements and a detailed plant showing milk processing and distribution from delivery to trucks. Also shown are a plant laboratory, boiler room, washing rooms, and a dairy bar with a related booklet set. The exhibit runs through February 5.
