Almost two hundred Scarsdale leaders gathered January 13 at Westchester Country Club to honor Samuel J. Duboff of Barry Road as the 32nd Scarsdale Bowl Award recipient for twenty four years of service in Village, School, and religious affairs. The event featured remarks from Helge Johnson and Alden C. Smith with Alan Temple noting the history of the Bowl. Duboff’s career spans CPA leadership, public boards, and civic roles including six years on the Scarsdale Board of Education and leadership in multiple local organizations.

18 21 Year Olds Urged To Enroll In Parties
The League of Women Voters urges 18 to 21 year olds to enroll in a political party this year to be eligible for primaries in 1972. Central Registration runs January 4 to August end at the Westchester County Board of Elections in White Plains. John D. Hawkins was elected president of the Berkley in Scarsdale Neighborhood Association at the annual meeting on January 12 held in the Village Hall Annex. Charles R. Beall outgoing president introduced him as J. Henry Neale spoke on the association's history. Bus Fares Hiked by Scarsdale Bus Corp
Scarsdale Bus Corp raises adult fares by five cents and children and school tickets by smaller amounts as of January 17 under a Public Service Commission tariff amendment. The company expects a net loss for 1971 even with the fare increase, and operates five routes in Westchester County from Scarsdale to White Plains Green Knolls Longview Heathcote Road and from Tuckahoe to Interlaken Garden. Present rates are 20 cents for single zone and 30 cents for two zones. 20 for a book of 20 tickets will rise to 2.50.
