Ottinger urges U S support for Israel against UN censure
Congressman Richard Ottinger warned in a House speech that the Soviet Union could exploit the UN Security Council censure of Israel to sway international opinion and pressure a Soviet influenced peace settlement. He argued Arab terrorism is ignored, vetoes shield Arab states, and six non allied nations hinder Israel complaints. Scarsdale burglaries down 50 percent in 1968
Police Chief Donald Gray reported a 50 percent drop in private home burglaries in Scarsdale for 1968 down to 53 cases from 108 in 1967. He credited a verbal report system, more patrols, alarms, walking posts, road blocks, and K-9 units. The mayor called the decline remarkable.

STEP Program Expands Scarsdale Transfer Education Plan
The Scarsdale Board of Education voted unanimously to increase the STEP from five to 13 students at Monday night’s meeting. Ten new students will join next year. three current participants remain, two graduate in June. The move follows STEP chair Mrs. Theodore Frye’s recommendation. original chair Mrs. John Menke initiated the expansion. The program offers southern Negro students the last two years of high school in Scarsdale with free placement.

Burrows Seeks Disclosure Rules For Big Giveaways
Assemblyman Gordon W. Burrows introduces a bill to amend the general business law.
