Scarsdale teachers urge a more democratic climate and stronger professional development. STA president Richard Davenport cites salary rank, sabbatical gaps, and expanded advanced placement offerings as teachers push for real professionalism.
The Nominating Committee of Greenburgh School District No 6 Edgemont will hold an open meeting January 26 in the See Place School library to receive nominations for two three year terms on the board. Nominations should be mailed to Mrs. Alvin Blattner Scarsdale, with candidate details and consent. Petitions follow state law requiring 25 qualified voters to file with the district clerk.
The village forms a committee to study underpass at Parkway and Crane Road and a reconstructed Fenimore Road Bridge. A four to six week timeline extends prior estimates as plans include community information and possible outside consultant.
January 28 target date set for completion of Scarsdale High School addition with an Open House planned in early March. Board members discussed safety and phased building access, with final alterations expected by June or September.

Walter Pleuthner of 35 Heathcote Road battles a village order to repair or tear down his fire damaged home within weeks. He denounces the Architectural Board of Review and vows to stay, claiming the house is sound and critiquing insurance settlement timing.
The Town Club reached a record 1235 members after 33 new members were added by the board. Life members total 78 led by Stephen L. Angel who joined May 9, 1912. New inductees include John E.
