The Scarsdale United Fund has reached 90 percent of its 1972 goal at 209 183 dollars with more than 23 000 still needed. Campaign chair John M Bendheim announced that a Telethon on January 11 at Scarsdale National Bank aimed to contact residents who have not contributed. Pledges are being collected by volunteers, hoping to reach 100 percent for 1973 allocations. Residents are urged to donate at the United Fund Office 225 Harwood Building.

Garbage pickup schedule altered for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
The Town of Greenburgh Sanitation Department observes MLK Day January 15 1973 with no pickup. Garbage normally collected Monday shifts to Tuesday January 16 and Tuesday’s collection to Wednesday January 17. Wednesday trash is suspended and will be collected January 24.
