Hutchinson River Drainage Project Under Way
New Rochelle and Eastchester split a little over 14000 dollars for Wilmot Road drainage as the first phase of improvements. More work designs are being drawn for three spots in Hutchinson Boulevard Sprague Road and nearby areas with Scarsdale coordinating. The Wilmot Road upgrade replaces an old stone culvert with a 4 inch pipe over 210 feet to improve downstream conditions before upstream work.

Basketball leagues begin ninth annual Recreation Dept play
Play opens tomorrow in the ninth annual Recreation Department basketball leagues. About 2100 boys and girls compete in 19 leagues with over 140 parents volunteering as coaches and managers. Games start at fourth grade for boys and fifth for girls, with elementary and junior high players on Saturdays 9 AM to 3 PM. High school games run 7 to 11 PM Fridays and 9 AM to 5 PM Saturdays.

School gift offers library books and playground equipment
