Explosion at Charles Mallory estate injures card party guests

Five minutes after seven on Thursday night a acetylene gas tank exploded near the Charles Mallory estate. Twenty guests at a card party were unaware of the danger as the blast shattered greenhouses, blew out windows, and killed 100 nearby fowls. The Colt gas machine and large tank stood in a 15 by 15 foot house 850 feet from the residence, with electricity powering the mansion and stables.
