Four New Castle realty indictments set for court appearance
Four men indicted by the extraordinary grand jury over realty leases and purchases in New Castle will appear before Supreme Court Justice Arthur S. Tompkins next Monday at 10. They plan to plead not guilty and, if so, the cases will be set for trial in Part 3 on January 27 at 10. Bail of $1,000 each was set for Howard R. Washburn and three co defendants in connection with the New Castle Holding Company.

Becomes County Probation Chief in Westchester County
William J. Harper of Bristol Rhode Island is named chief probation officer for the Children's Court of Westchester County at 6500 dollars a year. He will lead probation work until a county department is formed. John Sweeny Resigns From Hartsdale Post Office

Scarsdale building permits fell to 2,300 in January and overall 1929 total permits dropped to 262 from 318 in 1928. The year’s building activity totaled 4,204,922 dollars with fees of 7,980 dollars, including 142 permits for single family dwellings and 576,532 dollars for garages and miscellaneous.
