Members may obtain badges through a club or Ground Keeper and must wear them while skating. Guests may be included via a member's desk, with season tickets issued through the club or Ground Keeper.
A sequence of small fires reported in December at multiple locations including Walworth Avenue Fern Cliff roads Woodland Road Park Road Richelieu Terrace and Woods Road. Damages described as very small with fires discovered by bystanders or passersby and limited to minor property burn.
The New York State Woman Suffrage Party invites magazine submissions on Why Woman in the Rural Community Need the Vote and Why Churches Should Help Women Get the Ballot. Mount Vernon hosts a free mental clinic at Mount Vernon Hospital to diagnose and treat nervous and mental disorders. Dr. Frederick W. Parsons says sessions occur on the second Wednesday of each month at 2 pm with State hospital specialists offering free consultation and care.
A Ford owned by Polley and Dalton and driven by O Connor overturned on Walworth avenue last Monday night around 8 o clock while trying to avoid another car. O Connor was badly shaken but not injured. The car sustained slight damage.
Local police arrested several individuals last Friday while driving along the Post Road without tail lights. They were sentenced to suspended terms by Judge Mercer, Philip Sheridan and Halsall, reflecting a cautionary ruling on the offense.
A gold wrist watch is in police possession after being found. The police will return the watch to the owner upon proper identification.
Westchester County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing in White Plains on a proposed 1 250 000 hospital appropriation for Eastview. Support came from figures including John D Rockefeller Jr Adolph Lewisohn Mark D Stiles and Oswald Garrison Villard among others. One opposing letter from J Julian Hall urged taxpayer consideration and economy.
Governor Whitman seriously considers appointing Frank H. Bethell of Salem to succeed the late James G. Cannon as Bronx Parkway Commissioner from Westchester County. Bethell, first vice president of New York Tele Company, is linked with good government efforts in NYC and Westchester.
The Holy Name Society hosts the Grand Euchre at the Parish Hall of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scarsdale on Wednesday evening January 17. Judge Charles H. Chrystal leads the event with Patrick McCormick as prize committee chairman predicting more prizes this year and Miss Hanfling’s committee handling refreshments.
The Hartsdale Athletic Club started its bowling tournament at Court Alleys White Plains last night facing the Brotherhood of Engineers and Firemen. Club lineup featured W. Dury and W. Vogel with F. Vogel as another main player. substitutes included Woolley F. Thial and E. Vogel.
A reception of the Settlement Association is held at the high school this evening with a small program arranged for the guests.
