Scarsdale police chief James M. Lyons tolerates moonlighting as a legal outside job practice for about 70 percent of the 51-member force. Outside work includes house painting, gardening, post office duties, chauffeuring, and party work. Most officers moonlight in nearby communities. party work is favored and rosters are worked to balance duties. Scarsdale Considers Residence AA-1 Two-Acre Zoning
A public hearing by the Scarsdale Board of Trustees at 8 15 p m January 24 will review a new Residence AA-1 district requiring minimum two acre lots with 250 foot frontage and 75 foot front yard set back. The proposal covers portions of Quaker Ridge Fenway Heathcote Road and the Saxon Woods area and would create seven residential zones in Scarsdale. An amendment also lowers the Leatherstocking Lane rear lot area from one acre to 20 000 square feet.
