Scarsdale Links Chosen for Metropolitan Championship
The Metropolitan Championship will be staged at Scarsdale links with separate amateur and open events. The amateur runs May 20 for four days at Woodway while the open is set for August 14 at Scarsdale Golf and Country Club in Hartsdale. Englewood last held the open and Gilbert Nichols set a 66. Scarsdale’s course change marks the first time a non womens event will be held there.

Surprise Party for College Student at Arthur Manor
About eight o’clock Tuesday evening a party of thirty five surprised James Rooney Jr. home from St. Lawrence University Montreal. Mrs Rooney and her son heard the bell ring and were greeted by friends. An elegant supper followed, with decorations of cut flowers and evergreen. H Taylor of Scarsdale played violin as dancing continued until nearly two o’clock.
