Patrolmen Raise Request and Town Budget Discussed

Scarsdale patrolmen asked for a total top pay of 4000 dollars per patrolman, with proportional raises for staff, while the village reviewed estimated town expenses of 13950 dollars for general costs and 14700 dollars for the assessors department. The village renamed Crane Road to Old Orchard Lane and clarified access through private property, with residents already numbered as Old Orchard Lane properties. The finance committee will study the town and village budgets, with a full budget presentation due in March and adoption in April.

Holiday Musicale at Scarsdale Lodge features local performers

About 125 people attended a Sunday musicale at the Scarsdale Lodge presented by Mrs. Mildred K. Thompson. Don Seymour Joan Schnebbe Jimmy Barton Ralph Barton George Wilson Sheila Morris Beverly Johnson and camp girls from Camp Neshobe performed piano solos and choral offerings. A Trinity Lutheran Choir Anthem plus baritone Harry Meyerhoff filled the program. A social hour followed with refreshments and a magic show by Fred Schnebbe and a final piano recital by his daughter Joan Schnebbe.

Pershing couple to attend Puerto Rico governor inauguration

Mr. and Mrs. John J. Pershing depart Wednesday evening December 29 aboard Pan American Clipper for San Juan Puerto Rico to attend the inauguration of Puerto Rico's first popularly elected governor on January 2. They plan to return to New York by ship mid month.

Scarsdale Fire Chief Chester A. Dobbs, at the request of the Scarsdale Safety Council led by Horace Hardy, offers fire prevention guidelines following the Putnam Road fire. Endowment Boosts University of Arizona by 207 Thousand

James Baird of Tucson has given the University of Arizona a 207 422 dollar endowment the largest in the school's history. The fund will provide scholarships and loans totaling about 10 000 dollars annually. Baird a Michigan University graduate credited his Tucson move with curing asthma.

Dr. Oscar Junek to Speak at Woman's Club
