Scarborough philanthropist V Everit Macy urged support for the Grasslands County Hospital Christmas Radio Fund seeking 5000 dollars to install a central radio system with ear phones for 200 patients. He said such a system would provide therapeutic value and help reduce loneliness in the difficult to reach Grasslands facility.
Mr. Macy advocates bedside plug in units and individual earphones as the only satisfactory hospital radio system. He notes loud speakers in wards would disturb patients and hinder comfort. He describes the central receiving setup as providing enjoyment with minimal disturbance.
Probate petition filed by Jennie Donnelly seeks admission of Wilhelm T. Rosen will dated August 11 1922 to probate in Westchester Surrogate's Court White Plains January 22 1926 hearing. Request to appoint administrator with will annexed. Citation issued to listed heirs and relatives for response.
A Grasslands Hospital earned an At rating by the American College, noting patients too ill for radio programs can still listen with individual earphones without disturbing neighbors. The report highlights the hospital's patient comfort measures and auditory accommodations.
