Captain to Lecture on Trench Life at Hitchcock Memorial

Captain David F. M. C. of Australian and British forces will recount personal trench experiences at Hitchcock Memorial Greenacres Monday evening May 10 at 8 15 PM. Warton pictures will be shown at the hall under the Woman's Guild of the Church. Tickets one dollar from Mrs H S Candee Hartsdale.

Red Cross talk by Dr Fitch on war aims and relief work

Dr Fitch described the Red Cross in three main tasks: caring for wounded soldiers, aiding civilians including children and the aged, and aiding postwar recovery. He recounted trains crowded by soldiers on leave, canteens, hospital networks in France, and the urgent need to support morale and relief as American troops arrive and begin helping Allied forces.

Red Cross Notes Scarsdale Annual Meeting Details

Scarsdale Red Cross held its annual meeting at the High School on Wednesday November 28. Officers were elected for the coming year and amendments to the constitution were read. Reports show drive receipts and pledges, and a strong need for more workers in Red Cross rooms to meet Christmas quotas.

Sears Village Board Appoints Charles W. Oung to Council

The Sears Village Board, with President Wilson and Trustees Bethell and Furthmann present, appoints Charles W. Oung to fill the village board vacancy left by Mr Lavis for the current official year. Roy Chapman Andrews to Be at Picture House Bronxville

Roy Chapman Andrews brings a lecture titled The Frontiers of a Forbidden Land to The Picture House Bronxville Sunday evening December 16 at 8 15. Twenty Animals Burned in Barn Fire

At 2 35 last night the fire department was called to a fire in the barn of J Watson on Mamaroneck road near the old Schumacher estate. Hugh Jarvis awakened by glare in the sky notified the department. firemen prevented spread to a nearby shed. No horses, one cow, ten sets of harness, hay and other material burned. occupants awakened as firemen arrived. cause unknown.
