Police after speeders on the Post Road crackdown
Captain Ruggiero of the Starsdale police has begun a vigorous campaign against autoists who made the Post Road dangerous for pedestrians and slow vehicles. Last Sunday John Mitchell of Georgetown Conn was arrested for 42 miles an hour and fined $5.00. George Burnham of New York City was arrested on the Host Road for speeding and paid $5.00.

Accidents At White Plains Court House Construction
Two workers, Henry Williams and Troiana, were injured while tearing down the old White Plains Court House. Williams was able to go home after treatment, while Troiana suffered serious injuries including a compound fracture and scalp wounds. A bystander, Miss Muldr LA Butler, was struck by debris from a blast and confined to her home. Demolition near the foundation continues with completion expected by year’s end. new court house construction slated for August 31.

County Officials Track Driver in Jackson Fatality Case
After weeks of failure County officials finally arrested Walter Roesler a twenty five year old chauffeur in Nyack on a transport to White Plains to face trial for the July accident that killed Michael Jackson of Tuckahoe. Coroner Mills continues inquiry as Roesler faces possible charges of manslaughter and violation of the highway code. A Mount Vernon salesman H L Martin later confessed he was an occupant of the vehicle and led officers to the Nyack suspect.

Fatal results of violent storm in Westchester County
Two men died and many were shocked as a severe electrical storm hit lower Westchester County. Frederick Smith of Manhattan died after seeking shelter in a shed near Willets Corners Hartsdale, while Abram Agree of Port Chester was killed at Oakland Beach. Helen Kelly of Ossining escaped unharmed and aided others before flames in the shed spread. In Oakland Park a bolt struck a shelter near a restaurant injuring diners, and Phillip Rogers of New Rochelle and Michael Dillon were involved in further lightning incidents on Glen Island, with Rogers killed instantly. Dillon survived after extreme shock.
