Dumas to Return as Scarsdale Assistant Superintendent

Ralph H. Dumas will return to his post as Scarsdale schools assistant superintendent around August 15 after more than 10 months on Army Reserve duty. He previously served since 1954 and was stationed at Fort Bragg after joining October 1 during the Berlin crisis.

Recreation Dept records strong fiscal year attendance gains

The Recreation Department reports total attendance of 137196 for June 1961 to May 1962, up six percent from the prior year, with basketball the top program at 2436 participants. Summer offerings included camps, movies, sports, tours, puppet shows, plays, and concerts. tennis drew 10845 attendees with 18 clinics and three major tournaments. Fall featured twelve football teams, 453 participating parents as coaches, and 33497 in indoor centers. winter centered on Teen Center events and photography programs. spring tallies include 12 task forces on Saturday baseball, archery, lacrosse, and softball. Staff listed and volunteers numbered 270 for 175 teams across 23 leagues, with 90 field permits issued and equipment loans available.

Psychologist To Lecture at Scarsdale Adult School

Dr. Penelope Pollaczek a Scarsdale edgewood school psychologist will teach Psychology Some New Horizons at the Scarsdale Adult School. The program runs ten Tuesdays 8 to 10 pm beginning September 25 with lectures from experimental social and clinical psychology. Registration dates are September 18 and 25 at Scarsdale High School.
