Edgemont High to Build New Tennis Courts
The Edgemont Board of Education accepts the low bid from Daniel F. MacNamee Company Inc. for constructing two new tennis courts and reconstructing the four existing ones at Edgemont High School. Construction starts after May 16 with summer closure not allowing court use.

Studded Tires Not Permitted On Westchester Highways
County Public Works Commissioner Robert A. Dennison warns motorists that snow tires with metal studs are not allowed on red highways in New York from May 1 to October 15. He urges police to enforce the Vehicle and Traffic Law, cites road damage and safety risks from studded tires on dry or wet pavement, recommends remounting tires in fall, and advises marking tires to stay on the same wheels to avoid imbalance and hazards to road workers.

Ways of Seeing Abstract Painting at Greenburgh Public Library
The Metropolitan Museum of Art curates a 25 work abstract painting show from 1908 to the late 1960s at Greenburgh Public Library. The exhibit, part of the School Exhibition Service, explores moving from realism to abstraction with color reproductions and a slide lecture on color and composition.
