Chamber Music Concert At Library Sunday
The Friends of the Scarsdale Library sponsor a Sunday afternoon program on April 25 from 1 30 to 4 30 p.m. at the Library. The Hoff Barthelson faculty trio Mary Helton Frances Magnes and Lois Wannaboe will perform in a first time chamber concert at the Library. Following the concert Estelle Berman will be introduced and refreshments served. The event honors National Library Week and the Library’s twentieth anniversary year.

Bids accepted for a three level parking structure in Hartsdale Station Plaza to house 315 cars with metered parking. Ground-breaking held April 19. Cost $650000 funded from meter receipts with a $450000 bond and $200000 reserve.

The Inquirer reports corrections to a case where after two adverse rulings the Appellate Division agreed to re argument. The court then reversed, holding a variance could not be granted if caused by the property owner plaintiff Mrs Work who had sought sale of the Work property pending village action. Foster Vogel, described elsewhere as Assistant Village Attorney, is in fact the Village's special counsel.

Authority On Breast Cancer To Speak Here On May 6
Dr. Henry P. Leis, international breast cancer expert, will discuss early diagnosis and The Pill and the Breast at the Scarsdale unit meeting of the Westchester Division, American Cancer Society. The event at the Junior High School auditorium on May 6 at 8 15 p.m. is open to all and admission is free with a Q and A session after the talk.

Hundreds of Scarsdale residents collected more than 200 tons of free compost on April 17. Thirty six Scouts assisted residents loading containers as 75 tons were distributed at three locations and an additional 125 tons arrived to keep the event running to 3 p.m. Woodchips were also handed out at the Crossways area.

Backman Denounces Antitrust Focus On Size Alone
Dr. Jules Backman of NYU told Rochester Ad Club that U S antitrust policy should judge firms by conduct and competitive effects rather than rely on firm size. He warned against breaking up giant companies and urged focus on eliminating actual anti competitive behavior. He noted postwar growth depended on large firms and cross industry operation.
