Colonel Alexander Baxter Crane Dies at 96 in Holmhurst
Colonel Crane of Holmhurst Read died of pneumonia at home on Wednesday aged 96, just shy of 97. He led Indiana's 85th Infantry in the Civil War, saw action at Resaca Cassville Kenesaw and Libby Prison, later practiced law, and supported Westchester causes and church leadership. Survived by a sister six children seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
