Children Aid Red Cross Efforts Across Scarsdale War Relief
During November 1915 to March 1916 Scarsdale children aided the Red Cross sending over 2200 bandages candles and love to Europe totaling 20 comfort bags 3 baby kits and 14 other items. They assembled stockings filled with toys candy and clothing for destitute refugees aiding Verdun evacuees. Volunteers aged three to fourteen created dressings gauze bandages and knitted goods. some delivered messages as bike messengers. Their efforts inspired others to contribute to relief during the war.

About 60 to 65 men attended the fifth annual Men’s Club dinner at Scarsdale Congregational Church. Dr Shern Eddy international secretary for the Y M C A in India spoke, noting twenty years of direct Y M C A work in India and some in China. Boy Scouts in uniform served the meal led by George A Marshad Hugh McDonald and Herman Behr. Tickets sold out and the entire seating capacity was filled.

Lecture on Aircraft Use in the Great War
