Burglars Steal Paintings From Mrs Warren Home
A burglary last Friday saw ten paintings valued at 10000 dollars stolen from the apartment of Mrs. A I Warren at 4 Popham Road after thieves smashed a kitchen door. The theft is under investigation. Prior winter robberies on Franklin Road and Griffen Avenue were cleared with the arrest of a Connecticut man who was wounded in a shoot-out with federal agents in New York City. He had been sought in several states for burglary armed robbery and rape. Two men injured in an April 1 auto collision on Heathcote Road received aid from Scarsdale firemen.

Scarsdale Road Runners Race Draws Record Field
Despite rain 240 runners aged 10 to 68 competed in the 9.3 mile AAU route through Scarsdale hills. Gile Kemp won in 48 01, with William Bragg second 48 40 and Howie Ryan third 48 56. Carol Fridley led women in 60 43. Fordham Athletic Club took first in the team standings with Millrose A A and NYAC following.
