Visitors from Norway and nearby towns join a packed weekend at Oakland Place and Sleepy Hollow farm. Local families attend church, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and prepare for Decoration Day with details of visits, purchases, and community activities.
Mrs. N. Ward visits her brother Dr. Ahrens and wife in town with daughter Virginia and son Guy. Rev. W. A. Van Gundy will attend Burr Oak Decoration Day.
Last Sunday night Rev. C. T. Carlson delivered a fine sermon to a full house. Monday night Prof. Olsson hosted a social hour at his home then treated guests to ice cream and strawberries at the Royal Cafe. Tuesday afternoon the Literati Society heard readings music and debate on college course reforms with judges Mrs Nimocks Miss Anderson and Rev Van Gundy. verdict affirmative. Wednesday afternoon public school exercises featured graduates Amy Johnston Agness Grubb Ella Maxell Alta Beck Vera Platt and Charley Lysholm all deserving of diplomas.
Warren Johnston reports a senior class party at Isaacsons with games and refreshments after which Pruf Olsson received Hall Rack and Miss Balch a hand painted comb and brush tray as tokens. The note mentions class fights examinations and the upcoming Commencement exercises signaling another year’s end.
