L E Cooper reports seed corn tests on 660 kernels with 410 sprouting, a 964 percent growth rate for his home seed, while imported pure bred seed shows only 25 percent viability. Experts favor home grown acclimated seed and warn against relying on self judgment in selecting seed. A Ellingson invites readers to view his wall paper line.
The Opera House home talent play The Iron Hand drew a good audience last Monday night. Viewers praised the cast and choreography noting it was better than expected with the N. O. Y. E. Club receiving deserved credit. The orchestra impressed and the interval between acts went smoothly. BOOSTERS were urged for Friday night.
Andrew Olean died from blood poisoning developed after a stalk cutter accident last week. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Swedish M. E. church with internments in Riverview.
Last Saturday H. S. Cooper Bert Morey Frank Larson and A Ellingson attended the Concordia initiation of a class of 18 desirous of joining the Antelers. Among the members were Ralph McTaggart W D Vance of Belleville Frank Stover and Mr Vale of Republic. The Scandia group reports a fine time and a big banquet with a notable egg bearing a capital K symbolizing patriotism to Kansas. The egg will be exhibited at this office for public viewing.
