Paramount presents a news reel program titled Two Decades of History showing twenty years of world events in pictures. The show runs Tuesday and Wednesday February 18 19 at the Princess Theatre.
Henry Fonda Linda Darnell and Victor Mature star in John Ford directed My Darling Clementine set in 1880s Tombstone. The 20th Century Fox presentation runs February 15 16 at the Princess with Tim Holt and Cathy Downs in key roles. Coming February 22 23 Bob Hope in Monsieur Beaucaire.
The Bowery with Wallace Beery George Raft and Jackie Cooper plays at Princess Theatre Tuesday and Wednesday February 18 12. The revival recounts the East Side rivalry between Chuck Connors and Steve Brodie with a cartoon and a 22 minute history review.
Tarzan rescues ZambezI maidens from leopard cult, is captured and saved with Jane and Boy by Cheta. He seals a cave to stop the savage tribe, then defeats the Leopard People in a thrilling climax. Opens February 20 with Lover Come Back slated for February 27.
Last week Steve Arnoldy sold The Steve's Cafe to Mr and Mrs Charley Larson of Belleville who took possession immediately. Arnoldy thanks the public for their patronage.

The Sherdahl 4 H Booster Club met February 5 at the Pleasant Grove school house. Members heard a Farlee talk on leadership and enjoyed songs games and a joke roll call. The next meeting is February 24 at Lloyd Norris home with a roll call on improvements.
Mrs Josephine Rapp of Red Cloud Nebraska and Mr Faye Summer were married Monday afternoon at Osborne They will reside in Red Cloud Mr and Mrs Pete Sandell visited Elmer Danielson Wednesday evening.
Saint Valentine, patron of the faithful, died on February 14 in ancient times for defying a decree against Christianity. While imprisoned he befriended the jailer’s daughter and sent her a farewell message signed From Your Valentine, a phrase that survives in greeting cards through the ages.
Scandia Swedes posted a 15th win by defeating Jamestown 67 to 48. Ralph Larson led with 25 points while Keith Jackson added 21 for the second team’s 11th win in 13 starts. The season included multiple district showings, a 58-39 win over Republic to move to 13 wins, and other victories over Jewell and Courtland as sections and school activities continued.
Scandia reports March of Dimes receipts of 114.25 dollars thanks churches clubs schools and individuals for aid. Local chairman Cora Ahrens notes the community’s support and appreciation for the worthy cause.

Scandia Chapter No. 481 C E met Tuesday February 4 with Alma Lewis and Frank Granstedt presiding in the east Esther stood in for Esther Myrtle Grubb. The chapter will meet February 18 at 7 30 p m at the Masonic Hall for a stated meeting initiation and celebration of the first anniversary of the chapter. Guests included Warren Scott Belleville and Lester Thompson and daughters at the home of their parents Alex Scott.
John Sjolander, Eustace and Alvin and Miss Ira Mae Peters joined Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Sjolander and family for Sunday dinner and lunch honoring Connie and Buddy Sjolander on their birthday anniversaries. Henry Rosene and Juddy Freed families shared Sunday lunch honoring Mrs. Freed whose birthday fell on the 6th. W H McClure Jr of Manhattan spent two weeks with Arnt Carlson and relatives in Republic.
Mr Richard Loring Mrs Ella Hugos and Mr and Mrs Axel Hedstrom were Thursday evening coffee guests of Mrs Gustava Ostberg and Ted.
Mrs Carl Hugos and Gladys and Mrs Gustava Ostberg stayed Monday night and Tuesday with Mrs Selma Frankfarther of Concordia.
Sunday evening guests of Mr and Mrs Elmer Danielson and Kenneth and Mr and Mrs Pat Sandell included N E Sandell Ruth Harlan Sandell Pete Sandell Martin Johnson Norman Rex Sandell Mae Berggren Irene Swanson, and Mr and Mrs Gene Spitler. they visited Tuesday afternoon with Mr and Mrs Ed Loring.
Mrs. Alvin Anderson was a Thursday afternoon visitor of Mrs. Charlie Peterson, sharing a social call and greetings in the neighborhood.

Mr and Mrs Rollie Canfield announce the marriage of their daughter Evelyn Wells to William Arnold son of Mr and Mrs Roy Arnold of Courtland. The ceremony took place on Sunday February 9 at Courtland M B Church with Rev Watkins officiating. The bride wore a blue street length dress and a yellow daffodil corsage. The groom wore a gray business suit. Matron of honor Mrs Neal Cady Jr wore gray with pink carnations. Best man Neal Cady Jr wore blue. Attending were Mr and Mrs Rollie Canfield and Mr and Mrs Roy Arnold along with several relatives and friends.
A group hosted a miscellaneous shower for bride Pat Sandell on Saturday afternoon February 8 at Mrs. Johnsons home. Guests enjoyed games, contests and written recipes for the bride while she received many useful gifts and dainty refreshments were served.
Mr and Mrs Elmer Danielson hosted a Sunday reception at the M. E. Church parlors honoring Mr and Mrs Pat Sandell. A short program and refreshments followed a pink and white decorated bridal table with a three tier cake.
