Last Sunday a strong north wind stirred up dust clouds across the region marking this year’s first dust storm. The day warmed to 50 degrees with a reddish sky as foreign dust migrated from southern states, making driving hazardous and leaving dust traces everywhere. Farmers say wheat remains protected by snow and ice, so little damage is expected when melt begins.
Mrs. Christine Johnson Dies at 68 Near Kackley
Christine Johnson, a Sweden native aged 68, died at her home near Kackley last Saturday afternoon. She had resided in the Kackley community since 1878. T. A. Sanborn visited Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hooker Saturday evening.
