The junior class at the high school stage presents Grandma Goes Hollywood a three act comedy Friday night in the auditorium. Rock Island Railway Station to Remain Open Six Months

Scandia residents receive the State Corporation Commission findings allowing the Rock Island Railway station to operate for six months from November 22, with potential future orders to discontinue delayed. James Brown Dead After Long Rural Carrier Service

James Michael Brown 61 died at his Scandia home on Friday December 1 1989 after a long illness that kept him from regular duties since January 1. He served as a rural route mail carrier for 30 years. Funeral services were held at his home U B church on Sunday December 3 1989 with interment in Riverview cemetery.

Beloit Dedicates New Municipal Auditorium With Three Day Revelesta

G R Cabinet and Local Clubs Schedule Meetings

The G R Cabinet met December 5 at Viola Petersons home with a devotional, roll call on embarrassing moments, and a January 8 1940 return meeting. Earlier November 29 Laveda Ball led devotionals with prayers by Miss Nichol, and the group sang Follow the Gleam. Republic County School Masters Club and Republic County Women Faculty Club plan a December 11 banquet at the Elliott Hotel Belleville hosted by Courtland High School ladies. Afterward the Masters will hold a business meeting and the women a Christmas party. Scandia Swedes travel to Cuba December 12 for a game.

Engineer Judah Visits for Republican Valley Surveys

Engineer Judah from the U S Reclamation Department Denver arrived Friday to review Army Engineer data and topography for further Republican valley basin surveys. He traced from western tributaries to the Republican River mouth and onward to Kansas City, staying with Dr. E Porter Ahrens during his visit.

Governors to Meet on December 22 in McCook Nebr

Masons Elect Officers at Scandia Banquet

Monday evening at 6 30 the Masons of Scandia hosted wives for a gala banquet. Afterward the ladies attended Naughty But Nice at the Princess. Lodge officers were elected and installed with W M John Nystrom and other posts filled. about 125 attended. Mr and Mrs Harry Hohman moved to the Ed Loring property. Everett and Charles Robison visited grandparents.
