County Camp of Woodmen Elects Leaders at Scandia Meeting
The County Camp of Modern Woodmen held a pleasant session in Scandia on Wednesday electing J M Doyle of Belleville as chairman and S F Tucker of Courtland as secretary. Delegates and alternates to the State Camp were chosen, a county union planned, and a yearly county log rolling discussed. Delegates included Republic W Moore and W E K Nixon.

Original May 18 1970 Scandia lot owners roll found
In Chicago last year Mr A Ellingson discovered a copy of the original Scandia city lot owners roll dated May 18 1970. It bears the Scandinavian Agricultural Society seal and signatures of the president and secretary. The document lists original owners and their drawn lots many of whom remain linked to Scandia and Republic county. Ellingson notes his father served as assistant secretary of the company.
