Dog bite endangers Laurel child in rabies scare
Five year old Little Lucile Blackburn of Laurel was bitten by a stray dog in the family garage on Wednesday morning. The dog, described as strange, bit the girl and broke the skin in two places before being killed. The child received treatment in Sarasota from Dr. Wilson and is reported to be improving. The dog’s head was sent to Tampa for rabies testing, with results not yet available at press time.

George Hamp Kersey, 9, located a rabbit hole on Bradentown road and reached in, getting bitten by a rattlesnake. His parents bandaged the arm, notified Dr. Joseph Halton, who treated the wound with potassium permanganate. The boy is recovering, and whiskey given by parents is blamed for worsening symptoms.

Punta Gorda Fourth celebration linked to bridge completion

Pensacola Florida June 14 Attorney for Sidney J Catts failed to file demurrers to the indictment charging the former Florida governor with peonage District Attorney John L Neeley announced the case would be brought before Judge Sheppard as soon as possible It is understood a special session of the federal court will be convened here about June 29 to try Mr Catts.
