E J Bacon elected mayor of Sarasota by a large plurality over Owen Burns and Will McFarland in Tuesday's city election. Packing House Closes Through the Holidays
The Sarasota Citrus Growers' Exchange suspends operations from October 31 to January 1. Fifty cars of fruit shipped this season amount to about one third of the crop. J. W. Ponder presides, W A E Goolo guards packing, L. E. McLeod serves as secretary treasurer. Twenty five workers in the packing house and ten in fieldwork. Storm on October 25 damaged no more than 15 percent of fruit.
