People's Convention Nominates Non Partisan Ticket in Santa Fe
A large Santa Fe assembly met in the courthouse at 3 p.m. for a non partisan ticket nomination for mayor, eight aldermen, city clerk, and city treasurer to be on July 2 ballot. Antonio Ortiz y Salazar presided with J. P. Victory secretary and Jose D. Sena Jr as interpreter. The committee of four Democrats and four Republicans proposed a seven-member alderman slate, a clerk, and treasurer, later adopted as the Citizen's ticket. The session featured debates on ward representation and the authority of the convention, with Judge Thornton addressing the gathering before adjournment.
