Melani Boeck a 17 year old Sandpoint High School graduate participated in a 21 day Youth Caravan trip to Quito Ecuador. She helped build a church lived in diverse homes and described a cultural shock. She will present a narrative report at Sandpoint Presbyterian Church and at Camp N Sid Sea in Coeur d Alene with advisors from Idaho and Oregon.

A 72 year old Sandpoint man pleaded guilty in Magisterate Court to shooting a protected osprey in August after it attacked his dog. Jeff Overholzer was fined 100 dollars by Magistrate Judge Ralph Mills with 50 dollars suspended and six months probation on the condition he cease antagonistic acts toward osprey.
