Sandpoint Council Won’t Order Water Hookup Amid $35,000 Suit
Sandpoint city council members say no hookup will be installed before a Monday court hearing. The Molsteads seek water and an injunction while asserting the city has for years supplied water to homes outside the city limits. Councilman George Harper argues the 40 year old wooden main near the Molsteads’ property should not be used due to cost if it fails. Ruth Stockdale is the only current customer on the line, having a 1971 hookup.
