Schweitzer Ski School names new director Bill Haskins
36 year old Bill Haskins named director of Schweitzer Ski School succeeding Ita Utah with a plan to stress basic skiing and offer short method and modified American techniques. The staff will include five full time instructors and 18 to 20 part time instructors. Haskins will move to Sandpoint with wife Susan on Oct. 15 and aims to establish weekly standard races and a weekly ski week program plus group passes for 3 5 and 7 days.

BN Land Clearing Sparks Controversy Over Yard Plans

Arson Suspected in Hay Fires Near Ephrata
Ken Gibson of Royal Slope reports two haystacks burned in separate spots near Ephrata at about the same time early Thursday. He lost about 55 tons of hay, part of an August 1970 surge that burned over 1 million dollars worth. Grant County Sheriff's Office investigates possible arson.

Condo del Sol Phase One Ready
Condo del Sol on Lake Pend Oreille in Sandpoint Idaho reports first phase units ready for occupancy. About 25 percent of condo units are reserved with more work underway and 48 units planned for next summer. Legal Offices Open on University of Idaho Campus
On the University of Idaho campus this week two legal offices opened to aid indigent residents and students in civil and juvenile matters. The project is a cooperative effort by Lewis Clark Legal Services, ASUI, and the University College of Law. Law students will staff the offices under limited practice licenses with Idaho Supreme Court rules, earning credit from the College of Law.
