Four Spokane students hurt in bee sting car crash
Four Spokane area students were injured Sunday in a single car accident on Fish Hatchery Road in front of the Idaho State Fish Hatchery. Driver Rebecca Bonner, 16, and three passengers Christine Cook 14 Jody Portch 11 and Colleen Cook 11 were treated at Bonner General Hospital for cuts and bruises. The car hit a mailbox and post, damage about 400 dollars. Bonner said a bee entered the car and stung her thigh. No citations were issued.

Donald Bailey of Spokane recalls shock after his wife delivered a baby girl on Sunday. A mathematician friend had told the odds were 1100 to 1 that the baby would be a boy. Jennefer Dawn was the first girl born in Bailey's family since 1890.

Train Burns and Track Fire Near Sandpoint
A hot box on a Burlington Northern freight started two fires Friday north of Sandpoint. One involved the lumber carload and another scorched eight ties on a trestle at SH 200 and US 95 north of Pend d Oreille. Fire Chief Art Chubb said BN crews initially put out the freight car blaze, then firefighters used 200 gallons of water to extinguish the trestle fire.

Indian chiefs and Northwest tribal representatives plan a Wednesday meeting in Spokane to critique Bureau of Indian Affairs policies.
