Voters Decide On Bonner County School Levy Today

Bonner County residents vote at noon to 8 pm on a 15 mill five year school plant facilities levy up to 615000 in any one year to fund building repairs furnishings buses and loan repayments. Voting locations include Blanchard Priest River Clark Fork Colburn Coolin Edgemere Granite Hope Idaho Hill Kootenai Laclede Northside Priest Lake Sagle Southside and Sandpoint Farmin Lincoln Washington schools.

Sandpoint seniors escort board on crowded school tour

A group of Sandpoint High seniors guided three school board members Marion Ebbett Jack Bopp and Blaine Stevens through overcrowded classrooms and inadequate facilities. Students highlighted scarce PE gear and limited study spaces while teachers voiced concerns about conditions and funding. If the levy passes an extra 615000 annually for five years could address many priorities.

Six In Idaho Death Toll At 464

Six people died in Idaho during the Labor Day weekend as part of a nationwide traffic toll that reached at least 464 deaths. The report lists victims including Jamie Speiker, 15 months, of Boise, and adults Jerry Wolfe, Eldon Frank, Dereck Brush, Bruce Mori, Donald Gitti, Dale Schwendiman, and Dwight Bair with causes ranging from drownings to traffic accidents and a hunting gunshot wound.

Rodeo Weekend Schedule with Dances and Breakfast

Friday evening features a Queen's benefit dance at Chateau with the five piece band Rodeo from California. Saturday offers a parade at 2 PM, no motor vehicles, then a 7 PM professional rodeo at Bonner County Fairgrounds and a 9 PM rodeo dance at Elks Club with the Rodeo band. Sunday includes a 7 to 10 AM cowboy breakfast at City Beach and a 2 PM return to professional rodeo at the fairgrounds.
