Mullen Construction Co of Seattle submitted the lowest bid of 1 371 040 for two Idaho projects to straighten Thama Rock curves and build a new bridge over Johnson Creek between Sandpoint and Priest River. Second and third bids were 1 376 947 and 1 543 874 by N A Dagerstrom Co and Murphy Bros of Spokane.

Albeni Falls Mill Shuts Down Amid Low Stud Prices
Diamond National Corporation closed its Albeni Falls stud mill last week. Unit manager John Airport cited low stud prices, high log costs, and rising manufacturing costs as reasons. The shutdown took effect Friday October 24 and affected 26 workers, four laid off while others moved to Nordman or the Albeni Falls planer and saw mill.
